Alto Tâmega Project

The Tâmega hydroelectric project in Portugal will add 1,158 MW to the country’s electricity capacity with the construction of three new power plants. With an investment of more than 1.5 billion euros backed by the European Investment Bank, this project includes environmental measures such as reforestation and protection of local fauna. Its progressive entry into operation from 2022 contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions and generates employment in the region.

Voltan participated in the Gouvães power plant and has also executed the complete electrical assembly of the Alto Tâmega power plant.
